BIDI optical module is a single-fiber bi-directional optical module, namely BiDi (Bidirectional). Conventional module is a dual-fiber module (two optical fiber connection), the fiber optic interface has two fiber ports: transmitter port (TX) and receiver port (RX), while the BIDI module is a single-fiber module with only one optical fiber port, a fiber inside the transmitter and receiver of different optical signals, so the BIDI optical module must be used in pairs. In terms of appearance, BIDI modules have only one port and are connected by only one optical fiber.

Application

1. Confirm whether the fiber jumper matches the module
Multi-mode optical fiber jumpers: Common colors are orange, gray, and turquoise, and the words 62.5/125u and 50/125u are printed on such fiber jumpers.
Single-mode optical fiber patch cord: usually yellow, blue, etc., printed on the line is G652D 9/125u, etc.
Optical fiber module: The multi-purpose black pull-tab model is multi-mode (850nm wavelength), and other colors are generally single-mode optical modules.

2.Self-loop check

Plug two ends of a short jumper into the transmitter port and receiver port of the module to form a self-loop and check whether the switch indicator light is on.
